After 16 years working in the digital marketing space, primarily for consumer products and retail/e-commerce players, Wes McMahon founded Method Marketing in 2016. He saw a need for a no-BS agency, focused on delivering the type of results that clearly show up on the bottom line. Method Marketing was founded to be an “outcome-first” business, designed to be a breath of fresh air in an industry that can be heavy on jargon and light on deliverables.
A mix of design and luck gave us our first opportunity to work on a performance-based project. While it was a bit scary, the idea was appealing for many reasons, and two stand out today. First, we were fully incentivized to produce optimal outcomes for our client, without having to get bogged down by a traditional agency billing arrangement. If our client won, we won. Second, our growth as an agency was directly related to how well we performed, and could continue to grow if we continued delivering results. We were, in fact, betting on our clients—and on ourselves. This idea of alignment between agency and client became a cornerstone of our philosophy.
A few years later, Robert Boston Consulting (RBC) merged with Method Marketing, adding its principal officer as a co-owner and managing partner. RBC brought unique capabilities in the web development and software development sectors, helping Method Marketing expand its services. More importantly, it allowed us to dig deeper into our capabilities as a strategic marketing partner by developing tools that make us more effective.
Over the years, Method Marketing has been able to grow alongside its clientele. We focus on mid-market companies in need of a full-service marketing team that can go from idea to execution with no hand-holding.
